Friends and Family,
Wow! What a month May has been and now it looks as if June is shaping up to be another big one!
For
one, my Kickstarter ends today and although I only reached 19% of my
funded goal I will continue working towards self publishing my
children's book no matter what! I am not discouraged only more ready to
make this happen. I want to personally thank each and every one of my
family and friends who backed my project and believed in me. I can't
express to them enough how much I appreciate the support.
I
also had a great success with my art showing at One Draw Two and
spending my time finding frames to personalize and neatly display my
work. Actually, I'm kinda addicted to the thrift store frame section
right now.
A new project I'm
happy to share about is for Voices 4 Animals and Children where I will
be creating illustrations for a book the founder of this organization is
writing. It is backed by UNICEF and the UN and will focus on teaching
children about healthy eating, plant based diets and protecting the
planet and animals, I was contacted by them based on my passion for art,
animals and nature. You can check out their website below for more
information about the organization.
Voices 4 Animals and Children
Since
I have so much work I've framed, I have secured a booth at the First
Friday Milwaukie on June 3rd. This will be my first time selling as a
vendor and I'm SUPER excited to share my art with my community and
become more involved with the local art scene in my hometown. The event
is free and family friendly. If your in town stop by and say hi from
5-9pm, There will be live music, food and lots of local artisans.
First Friday Art Walk Milwaukie
Another project will fire up in June that I'm stoked about as I've been contracted to illustrate a 15 page children's book.
My plate is definitely FULL
but so is my heart being able to do what I love and forge my own way in
this world as an artist. It's not an easy thing to do but it's what
I've been preparing for my entire life.
Thank
you all again for the support and encouragement of my art. Each like on
a picture or post, every nice comment and share makes a difference.
Without art life would just be boring, right?
Much love and gratitude,
LeeAnne Gibney

First Friday Milwaukie
Greetings!
Just a quick reminder to let everyone know I will be a vendor at First Friday Milwaukie, June 3rd from 5-9pm. I will be at my own booth selling my illustrations where most of them will be framed and under $30!!!
This
is an amazing event for the community and helps support local artists.
It's family friendly and free! Stop by and say hello it's going to be a
gorgeous evening!
I've also started an exiting project for Voices 4 Animals and Children
where I'll be collaborating with other illustrators for a children's
fun-book educating people about how being vegan benefits our animals and
planet.
Here's a sneak peek at one of the pages I've illustrated.
Stay tuned for more news coming soon...
Much love and graditude,
Lee Anne Gibney
I am weird and the sacred flower
Seasons Greetings!
Hope you are having a fantastic start to the holiday season. In case you are looking for a unique gift for that special person in your life, think about giving the gift of art!
Perfect for young and old to enjoy, my newest children's book, I Am Weird is a wonderful gift for those who love to read and appreciate supporting independent local artists.
"A fun for all ages book celebrating the strange and unusual creatures that don't get the recognition they deserve. Take for instance the Axolotl or the Echidna. Although they seem some what weird at first glance, they are just as important and special as any other creature. Simple rhyming verses are easy to read and share little interesting facts about these animals"
Here is a link to my Createspace store where you can purchase a copy for only $10.95, So go ahead and grab another for yourself!
Also you can enjoy the meditative relaxation of coloring by picking up a copy of my collaborated coloring book, The Sacred Flower, also available on Createspace, Barnes and Noble Online and Amazon.

Big 500 and new coloring book
Hello everyone!
The holiday season is upon us and there's no better gift than the gift of art by local artists!
I will be one of 500+ artists and over 5,000 works of art on display for the BIG500 at the Ford Gallery, December 10th- 23rd. All artwork is 8" X 8"/$40 each and benefits the Oregon Food Bank.
*Artist reception will be December 10th at 2pm. If you are in the neighborhood stop by to say hi, it's gonna be a fun event!
Special thanks to curator extraordinaire, Chris Haberman, for putting this event together for it's 9th year in a row! I'm so excited to be a part of this.
In addition, I have many illustrations for sale at Jam On Hawthorne and the Beer Store in Milwaukie. Most of them under $30 and would make excellent gifts for the holidays!
I'm pleased to announce my newest publication, a children's coloring book called The Sacred Flower. This is a collaboration project with the very talented author, Tracy Blom.
Description:
"A unique and fun coloring storybook depicting the flower of life. Find this unique and evolving pattern throughout the story, and color along to create your own special pattern. This ancient powerful design evokes a creative transformation, able to be experienced at any age!"
You can purchase a copy of your very own at Amazon.com.
Meanwhile. I've become inspired to write my own children's book called Bright Spots, which is a dedication to a family member who lost her battle to cancer. She is most known for her gentle heart and ability to always find the "bright spots" in life. I can't wait to complete this one and share with my family and friends who knew Doreen.
That's pretty much all for now! Thanks again for supporting local art! Hope you all have a safe and happy holidays!
Much love,
LeeAnne Gibney
